Ana van der Merwe, Principal

Ana is the founder and principal of Altare. She holds more than 15 years of experience in continuous improvement across different industries including automotive, medical device manufacturing and financial services. She has formed her working experience across various multinational organisations in Australia, South Africa and the United States. Ana is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and also a certified Lego® Serious Play® facilitator and designer of workshops.

Her passion lies in helping others to see and think of problems and opportunities differently, to use data meaningfully and to recognise waste or untapped opportunities. The word Altare is a mashup of the latin words “aliter cognitare” meaning to think differently. Engineering and psychology degree qualifications offers Ana a balanced and technical-humanistic approach to facilitation and coaching.

Ana lives in Melbourne with her husband and two children. She loves taking their dog Zulu for a run, although it is usually the other way around.
